I think being environmentally friendly is great, and I try to recycle as much as possible. I think that the government is mostly talk and not enough action, however. They are politicians and not the most trustworthy individuals out there in general, in my opinion. They are saying what they think the people want to hear to get votes, not necessarily what they will actual act upon. I think that global warming is certainly a major concern and also that the government is more talk then action. The gov't officials keep raising their own paychecks constantly, but care little for the everyday working folk in general. The Netherlands has a great perspective with everyone riding their bikes, that is awesome, and saves tons in fuel, and money, and is far more onvironmentally friendly. Just as a humourous sideline, I myself have never personally ridden a bike!! Susan.

Hi All politicians love topics that divert our attention from what they are really doing.I think they trot out Global Warming on this stage . If they just increase the cost to the consumer it will just become a rich man's world.and the government will pocket the extra revenue thank you very much, to finance some hair brained schemes they are hatching. We personally we recycle as much as possible but there are limits. The manufactures can help with packaging.I would like to see more pressure applied to them by HMG.Regards Brian C.

That is a very valid point, Brian. The manufacturers need to be more environmentally conscience, and not dump so many polutants into out water systems as well. The increase in cancers, birth defects, and other illnesses, including increases in asthma conditions, has been remarkable over the past 20 years, I watched a documentary on tv about it a while ago. Susan.

Hi All should firework displays be banned? pyrotechnics in general can only add to the problem.

Fireworks causing global warming? I would say, those industrial areas all over the world as well burning of forest areas are causing more warming than some fireworks.
