I was never a big fan of British tv and we got lots of it growing up with CBC in Canada. I do like Mr Bean and some of the other comedies too. I used to like the Carry On movies made in the late sixties - early 70s. Secret Angent Man and The Prisoner were good too.

Were The Carry On Movies on CBC?? See I guess the CBC and TVO made me an addict to the British shows...maybe it's a female thing... I keep hearing good thigs about the Carry-on films but don't recall ever seeing them.

I have to admit, British TV do have their attracts! I remember the olden days comedy like Marblehead Manor and The Buckets. They are funny! Much humorous than the US "comedy".

They played the carry on movies late at night for years and years. But alas ... not a one in recent memory.

I do prefer the better shows at BBC. Like "The Big Read", "Jamies Kitchen" and "a Touch Of Frost" but there is a lot of rubbish as well at the British telly. Like to many gardening shows at 1 evening, I wonder if people don't get tired of so much gardening time at the tv, to do they actual thing.
But hey, I am not a gardener ;D

Red Dwarf was smeg cool, as for the rest, particularly the cop shows, too much british accent for me. Their humour can somewhat differ a lot to us younger gen aussies

I grew up watching Brit tv, too, Doctor in the House, Fawlty Towers, etc. My fave still is Are You Being Served? One of the girls I work with says "Are you free, Shawna?" and I'll say "I'm free!" One of my fellow Lions is quite addicted to Coronation Street, as is my mother. I also like Keeping Up Appearances.

Hi Shawna!! I wonder if they translate any Dutch comedies into English?? I like Aussie shows as well!! Aussies they have, as I recall a show called The Flying Doctors. But they better never translated any of the Dutch shows, as they will not be that funny when translated. Nolatari

"Mother and Son" -- it was terrific! "E-Street" -- loved it and was a real fan years ago. "Far and Away" (I think it was called--a soap) "Neighbours" -- it was goofy but fun Some Australian movies shown on our television as well. Susan.
