(If you have Windows XP) Corrupted files in OE may be the cause. Take any e-mails you want to keep out of inbox / outbox / sent items / deleted items / drafts folders. Now close down Outlook Express. You might also consider going to the Command Prompt, and type in 'sfc/scannow'. Have your Win XP CD in the drive. It takes about 20 minutes to check for and replace missing / corrupted system files.
(If you have Windows 98) Corrupted files in OE may be the cause. Take any e-mails you want to keep out of inbox / outbox / sent items / deleted items / drafts folders. Now close down Outlook Express. You might also consider going to the "run" box and typing sfc there. It takes about 20 minutes to check for and replace missing/corrupted system files.
(If you have Outlook Express 6) Delete any corrupted .dbx files. Go to C:\WINDOWS\APPLICATION DATA\IDENTITIES\unique long number\MICROSOFT\OUTLOOK EXPRESS\xxxxx.DBX
Delete the .dbx files. (Remember folks, back up those .dbx files BEFORE deleting them. You will need to import them once you restart Outlook Express.)

The best way to avoid Outlook or outlook express probs is to work with a mailprovider that also provides webmail. webmail.provider.comThen You don't need to use either programme. Nolatari
