I've been trying to get some DOS programs to Run in XP with very little joy.
I'm assuming that XP has no proper DOS emulation, so is it possible to get a DOS emulator for XP?

The only DOS emulator I know is the one from XP. What programs are you running?

The only DOS emulator I know is the one from XP. What programs are you running? There is no true DOS enviroment in XP. Win 3.1 to 2000 actualy ran inside a DOS shell (or at least were based on DOS O/S) and so included a full DOS enviroment. XP was built from the ground up (alledgly) and so dosen't contain a true DOS enviroment. The "thing" the claim as to be a DOS command line in XP is simply a very poor DOS eumlator with little or no real function.

There's a great dos emulator called dosbox, it's not 100% effective but I've tried out 3 or 4 old games that all worked nicely, I even got sound which is usually a problem.
Google it and try it out, it's reqlly good and it's opensource.
